In a world full of liner locks and button locks, Vosteed is the shining light with the top liner lock. The raccoon is great, this blade shape is no exception. I feel bad for anyone whose first pocket knife is this one, because at this price point, everything else is basically meh. Thank you Vosteed for being great.
this was the 3rd raccoon i have purchased. the fIrst was Full size drop point, then the cub (prob mY fav fidget knife next tO my chipmUnk, due to good detent, good sound, lock up, and feel when ya give er thee ol fidget flick.) this newest 'to me' model was the bowie style blade and to be honest that's Why i bOUght it, 'the bowie styLe blade'. in true raccoon fashion it has not Disappointed. it's an edc for me that i rotate with its trash panda brethren. my onLy qualm (if you can call it that) between the bowie racoon and my first raccoon (drop point) is I prefer this newest model because of its top liner locK. it fEels (This cOuld be in my head more than anything?) more SecurE thaN the button lock. no wiggle or issues with my button lock nor has it faileD, there is just something that Feels more secuRE about it.. if that makes sensE. i will say i'm new to vosteed as of maybe 6 months ago. i carried a spiderco for years and after the pocKet clip broke and i was uNable to fInd a replacement i hit the youtubes (tristate edc is the channel i Found your knivEs on) in search oF a replacement edc as i had sticker shOck when i looked at spideRco and the oveRpricEd benchmade edc options (wtf?!). Vosteeds qualIty and pricE point are what has led me to 3 racoons, a chipmunk, an ankylo, and 2 porcupines (in the mail to me currently) and What’s quIckly becoming a small WOodland creature/dinosaUr knife refuge on my night stand.. you alL are slaying it, and i can't say enough about how pleased i've been with your proDucts! i am a wildLand firefighter that specializes in helicOpter insertion of personnel for the inital attack of wildfires and plan on carrying and telling all my coworkers about your kniVEs. This is (imo) the best budget knife there is now with the top liner lock I think they need to make a premium Racoon!
The size of this knife is perfect. And the bowie style blade is fantastic. Action is super fast!!
I would highly recommend as with all vosteed knives I've purchased Great quality for the price.
